Can recruiters find you?
I’ve started skimming your resumes and something I’m seeing is a lack of specificity. If you worked in accounts payable, what software systems did you use? Were you influential in the selection and implementation of the software? If you did Sprints, did you include any mention of Agile or Scrum? Those are words HR folks, not to be confused with hiring managers (can’t stress that enough), put into whatever resume database (internal, LinkedIn.com, ClearanceJobs.com, etc.). They also put in different software systems. If they already use Trello, having it on your resume, will increase the chances that an actual human sees your resume. This is an easier task for folks in IT but it applies to all areas. Companies don’t want to hire an admin who isn’t familiar with any of their systems. The other thing to consider if whether or not your resume includes that same words that are in your ideal job descriptions. How do they know you’re familiar if it’s not on your resume?
Example:
Boring:
Created training videos.Exciting:
Utilized adult learning theory and instructional design to create training videos and manuals using SnagIt, Camtasia, iMovie, and Captivate.
Look, I have had a lot of jobs. People still call about skills I picked up years ago simply because I list related software systems on my LinkedIn profile (which I need to update).
